2019 – 2020 Board Positions

2019 – 2020 Board Positions

Nominations for Board positions (President, VP1, VP2, Secretary and Treasurer) are done in March. The Nominating Committee will come forward with their nominations for the 2019-2020 Executive Board positions at this week’s meeting, Wednesday, March 6th. If anyone is interested in those positions, you must be nominated by the committee or be nominated at this meeting. To serve on a Board position, you must have paid your membership dues and been to three meetings within the school year. Any parent with a child in the district band program can serve on the board.

Committee chairs will also be needed for the next year as we have several graduating parents, but these positions are appointed by the President and the Board (after elections in April) and are a one-year term. If you are interested in learning about these positions, please let us know.

OMEA Large Group, March 8-9th, 2019

Thank You to all our volunteers (students and adults) who have signed up to assist us with this year’s OMEA event. We truly appreciate all your help and support and most of all your dedication to our students at MHS.

Any adult who has signed up through Sign up Genius has been placed in a position at the times they stated they could work! If you signed up for a shift – you are scheduled for that shift! If you had specific times you would work, I did note that in the sign up. I understand that when the reminder emails came out, there were some incorrect times. We are still short a few adult positions on Saturday. If you are available at all and would be willing to help, please contact me at [email protected]. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. Those who just signed up today should receive a confirmation email from me in the next 24 hours.

When you arrive for your shift on the weekend, please report to the hub where you will sign in for your scheduled shift and get a name tag. Our Board members will be there to assist you in where to go. At the walk throughs (discussed below), a schedule will be available for you to see and we will review job descriptions.

Walk-throughs

Adult volunteer walk through: Wednesday, March 6th at 6:30 pm in the band wing! All adult volunteers are asked to attend to this walkthrough to be able to understand your assignment and to be able to ask any questions.

Student walk through: Thursday, March 7th at 2:45 pm in the band wing. All students that volunteered should attend this walkthrough to learn the duties of their assignments.

We are very fortunate to have been chosen as a site for this event and need every volunteer, student and adult to be prompt to their positions. We would like to continue making this event a huge success so that we can host again in the future. If something arises, please contact me ASAP. Again, we are only successful in everything we do thanks to all our volunteers! Thank you for taking time out of our spring break to assist us! It is greatly appreciated!
