In the most sincerest way, we want to extend a heartfelt thanks to each and every person who helped and supported us with Tag Day this past Saturday. Without dedicated volunteers and supporters of all things “band related” we wouldn’t be able to offer our students all that we do today!!

To our volunteers: To the Music Mentors Executive Board and committees, school staff, our Board of Education, our community and our drivers – You deserve a round of applause! Thank you for spreading the word through social media, word of mouth and thank you for helping us get our students out into the community!!

To our students: Thank you for promoting our band programs and participating in tag day to help with our biggest fundraiser!! YOU are the reason we do this!!

To our supporters: Thank you for each and every donation! From elementary familes donating because their student is just getting an instrument in their hand all the way to our past alumni who continue to support us! Past , Present and Future Mentor Cardinals – we appreciate you all!!

Tuesday, Sept.11th: Rehearsal 6:00 – 9:00 pm
Thursday, Sept. 13th: Rehearsal 2:35 – 4:30 pm
Friday, Sept. 14th:: MHS vs Strongsville at home! Call time is 4:30 pm. It’s Middle School Night!

 

Competition Information

Saturday, September 22nd – Revere High School

There has been a change in the competition venue we will be attending for this day. We will now be attending the competition held at Revere High School, NOT the one at the University of Akron. Call time nor performance time is finalized yet but you should expect an afternoon call time and an evening performance time.

OSU Buckeye Invitational, Saturday, September 29th

Medication information is below and the forms are also on the homepage of the website.

The cost for the room is $40 per student and checks can be made payable to Music Mentors. Students can start turning this in now but it is due by Friday, September 21st.
Lastly, we hope that many of our families and friends come to support our performance at OSU! There is a flyer also on our homepage of the website with information regarding pre-sale tickets for this event.

A note from Mr. Poremba regarding medications

Hello Band Families:

With the upcoming overnight trip to Columbus for the Buckeye Invitational, I wanted to send out some information regarding medication for students. Per district policy students are not permitted to carry or administer their own medication while on a school trip. This includes all prescription and any over the counter meds such as Tylenol, Motrin, allergy medications, cold remedies, etc. We have medication trained staff that will be responsible for administering these meds while on the trip should they be necessary. Parents that are accompanying the band will be permitted to give medications to their own children. Students with inhalers may carry them with the proper district authorization.

The forms for medication are on the Music Mentors website. These forms need to be filled out by a physician and returned to Mr. Poremba by September 22 for students that are needing medication. All meds must be turned in by Wednesday September 26 in a sealed NEW container containing the medication. We will not accept any open medications. As always please let me know if you have any questions.
