And the word of the week is……”SUPERIOR”! Our very own FCMB earned their “1” – Superior rating this past weekend at the Perkins Competition! March Proud they did!!! I am so proud of how well they handled such a long, hot day! They did AMAZING! But, the work is JUST BEGINNING! Now… to perfect everything for State Competition!

Thursday, October 12, 2017: Rehearsal 2:30 – 4:30 pm
Friday, October 13, 2017: NO SCHOOL! MHS @ Solon, 7 pm Game, Call time is 3:30 pm. FCMB should all eat and come prepared with snacks, water and concessions money.
State Marching Band Finals
Now that the FCMB has qualified for State Competition, the scheduling process begins for the directors. Marching Band Finals is held the last weekend in October and the first weekend in November at a couple different locations. The directors will be requesting a few different time slots with the schedules that are available and as soon as we know when and where, it will be communicated.
Senior Night, October 20
Our final home game for the season will be Friday, October 20th. This is a very special night for our Seniors as they are recognized on the field with their parents. All the letters regarding this special evening have already been sent out in the mail. Please complete the online questionaire (Seniors only) if you haven’t done so already.

Scholarship Raffle Donations Needed
URGENT! Lots of help is needed to make this banquet the huge success that it has been in the past! We are need of at least 5-6 more volunteers to help gather donations for our raffle baskets. Please consider volunteering a few hours of your time to help make some phone calls, maybe stop at a few businesses or do some mailings for us.
If you know of any business that might like to donate to our scholarship fundraiser, please use the Scholarship Donation letter located on the Music Mentors website. This letter explains that we are a non-profit, tax exempt organization, what the donation is for and how to donate. The website also has a list (Scholarship Donation Progress Worksheet) of the businesses we have already contacted and those who have donated. We want to be sure we do not approach a business multiple times.
The banquet will be held at LaMalfa on Sunday, November 12, from 3-8 PM, so we are in crunch time for our raffle donations! Invites will be coming though an email through Infinite Campus within the next day or so!
