And the Beginning of the 2018-2019 School Year is Underway….

Wow! I cannot believe the 1st day of school is right around the corner! The students have had a great few weeks in marching band both learning and having fun!

Thanks to all the parents to have supported us, helped us, and emailed us to get involved. Thanks goes out to all of our guest instructors as well for taking the time out of their busy summer to come and be a part of the FCMB as role models for our students!

And thank you to our main staff for always being their to help out, answer a question and encourage the students along the way! I can already tell we are going to have a great marching band season!

I hope the students had a great time at Cedar Point! They had a beautiful day and the park was fairly empty so they had plenty of time to enjoy all the rides and attractions.

Pay to Participate is due this week

Please remember that the Pay to Participate fee applies to students who are members of the FCMB. This $200 fee is due this Friday and is listed in the parent portal and paid directly through there. The directors, nor Music Mentors, can take this fee for you. Please ensure this fee is paid by Friday, August 17th, to ensure that your marcher can take the field with us at our first home game on August 24th.

It’s Tag Day Time!

Our annual Tag Day is Saturday, September 8th, and the major planning for this event is underway! The link to print the form will be included here but your student should also be coming home with one. Please complete this form ASAP and turn it in. This event is MANDATORY for all High School Band members.

We need LOTS of drivers for this event. If you can volunteer just a couple hours on that Saturday morning as a driver to help us transport 400+ students around the city of Mentor, we would truly appreciate it! Please remember all our volunteers must be fingerprinted at the board office. It only takes a few minutes.

Aug. 16th: HAPPY FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL! Rehearsal is 2:45-4:30 pm
Aug. 17th: Pay to Participate fee is due

Volunteers and Fingerprinting

Fingerprinting is required of all our volunteers. Parents and Adults that plan on volunteering in any capacity: you will be required to go to the Board of Education before you can volunteer. The summer hours will be 7:30 AM – 4 PM. Please have your driver’s license with you and your Social Security number. When you arrive, you will let them know which schools you have children in, and also mention the FCMB. It only takes a couple minutes.
