OSU Buckeye Invitational

Hello FCMB Families

I hope that everyone is able to stay cool today with our “heat day”. Please see the information below regarding our trip to OSU for the Buckeye Invitational.

Cost of the trip will be $40 per band member and include a meal Friday before leaving MHS, overnight accommodations in Columbus and breakfast on Saturday. We will be staying at the Embassy Suites in Dublin, Ohio 5100 Upper Metro Place Dublin, OH 43017 ph. 614-790-9000. We are only able to secure rooms for band students and chaperones for the trip. We will also be limiting the number of chaperones that will be accompanying the band for the weekend. Parents wanting to come to Columbus to see that band will need to make arrangements for travel and lodging if they wish. I have also had several requests for families that will be staying in Columbus until Sunday. Please let us know ASAP if your child will not be riding the bus home with us after the show. Lastly, information on tickets and the show will be coming in another email. This is the first time we have been to this show and with it being at OSU it operates differently than other competitions we perform at.

The following itinerary is for the trip and is subject to change depending on the show schedule:

Friday September 28
2:30 pm – call time and meal at MHS
4:00 pm – depart for Medina HS for football game
10:00 pm – travel to Embassy Suites Dublin for overnight stay
12 midnight – arrive at hotel

Saturday September 29
8 am – breakfast at hotel
10 am – depart for Polaris Mall and have free time
12 noon – depart for OSU for Buckeye Invitational
1 pm – arrive at OSU – students will have time to watch other bands before we warm up for our performance
3:30 pm – dress for competition
4:00 pm – warm up
5:15 pm – performance (subject to change)
6:15 pm – students will be able to eat and watch other bands
10:00 pm – performance by OSU Marching Band
11:30 pm – depart for Mentor HS
2:30 am – arrive Mentor HS

Please note that the performance schedule will change as we get closer to the actual performance date. We will keep updating the weekend through the weekly Music Mentors emails.
