FCMB Information!!!

Welcome back FCMB!!!! I hope you all had a wonderful couple weeks off and had a fantastic 4th of July! Your summer schedule begins next week!! There is a lot of information in this email so sit, back, grab a pencil and paper to jot down some notes and hopefully your printer is ready to print out some important forms!

HELPFUL TIPS FOR A GREAT SEASON

▪ Refer to the Tip Sheet for the must haves and must do's for band camp!
▪ Please remember dismissing 200 students takes time. The end time is when practice ends, then the students walk back to the school and gather their belongings so it may take a few minutes.
▪ Make sure you and your student are subscribed to these emails.
▪ Get involved!
▪ Band questions go to the directors, booster questions come to Music Mentors and the appropriate person or committee.

FORMS & PAYMENTS

You will find all of the forms that you need by going HERE. For future reference:

▪ On DAY ONE: your student MUST bring in a completed OMEA Emergency Medical Form. NO EXCEPTIONS! You will also need to complete the permission slip (I will let you know when that is available.)
▪ Uniform order forms and payments are due July 22nd! This ensures we will be able to get all items ordered in time for pictures and Cedar Point. there is a separate order form for the band and colorguard.
▪ FCMB Spiritwear is OPTIONAL. There will only be 2 orders placed this year. 1st deadline is July 22nd. Second deadline will be mid August.
▪ Checks are made payable to Music Mentors. Just a disclaimer, there is a $35 fee for returned checks.
▪ Credit card payments - We will be at school on July 21st and 22nd from 6-8 pm to take credit card payments for spirit wear and/or uniform payments.
▪ Fee clarification: The $20 FCMB fee helps us offset our costs for supplies, treats, guest instructors, etc. throughout the FCMB season. The Pay to Participate fee of $200 is a DISTRICT fee. Music Mentors does not collect that fee, nor do we receive any part of that fee.

JULY 21 & 22, 6 - 8 pm - Uniform samples and credit cards

On July 21st and July 22nd from 6-8 pm, there will be someone available from the uniform committee available to assist with sample sizes for the polos, dry-fits and dinkles (marching shoes).
At the same time, we will have people available to process credit cards and take paperwork and payments.
FYI- band marchers are going to need tall black socks for the season and a pair of BLACK dress pants (like Dockers) for other performances, such as Cedar Point.

GETTING INVOLVED

We are still verifying what past traditions that we will be able to continue. For right now, we are asking ONLY those that are current executive board members, chairpersons, 50/50 sellers and uniform committee to start getting fingerprinted. Again this is done at the Board of Education. As we get further into the season, we will let you know when you should plan on getting fingerprinted if you will be volunteering. For right now fingerprinting is available Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 11:30 am - 4:30 pm. You must have your driver's license with you.

For right now, the ABOUT US page, on the website, has been updated with all our current chairpersons, and those names will link you to the email for that committee. There are descriptions for what each of our committees is responsible for. I highly encourage all of our families to take a look at this page and email our committee chairpersons to get placed on their volunteer list. WE NEED VOLUNTEERS FOR ALL COMMITTEES (with the exception of webmaster). If you are interested, please email the appropriate committee chair your name, student's name/grade, cell phone number and email address. They will then be in contact and let you know when you should head up to be fingerprinted. I hope to see lots of new faces!
