We are back at it after a beautiful Labor Day weekend. We hope you enjoyed a rare football free Friday! We have a busy week so take a moment to review our schedule and happenings for the week!
Schedule:
- Tuesday, September 2nd: Rehearsal, 4 – 7 pm
- Wednesday, September 3rd: Music Mentors Mtg, 7 pm
- Thursday, September 4th: Rehearsal 2:30 – 5 pm
- Friday, September 5th: MHS vs St. Ignatius @ home! Call time is 4:30 PM.
- Saturday, September 6th: TAG DAY! Call time is 8 am
MHS vs. St. Ignatius Game, Sept 5th
Finally. our first home game is here! Call time is 4:30 PM. Students should eat before arriving back to call time.
As it is our first home game, students will receive their “Music Notes” for their home windows after the game. This, along with returning their uniforms and instruments, can take some time. Therefore, students will not be dismissed directly after the game. I would suggest students be in touch with their parents once they are in line for returning their uniforms.
Tag Day Is Saturday, September 6th
Thank you to everyone whom has volunteered to drive for this annual fundraiser event! We are still in need of drivers!!! If you are willing to drive and have been fingerprinted OR can be fingerprinted tomorrow (Wednesday) between 11:30 am – 4:30 pm, please email vp1@musicmentors.org . With that being said, all those that have volunteered to drive, will be assigned a route.
Drivers and students should report to the FAC no later than 8 am on Saturday. We will be there as early as 7:30 to start assigning routes. Enjoy a cup of coffee or juice and donut on us! We will have a short meeting in the FAC to go over our standard safety guidelines before we send anyone out the door!
We appreciate everyone taking a few hours out of a busy Saturday to help support the band programs!
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Music Mentors is still seeking volunteers to help us fill our many volunteer spots throughout the season. We have several committees that need your help! You can review more about each committee at the “About Us” link on the website at www.musicmentors.org .
Chaperones: Looking for more parents to help us out at both the home and away games as well as competitions. Email Brittany at chaperones@musicmentors.org for more info.
Service Crew: This crew needs multiple volunteers at any one time to help get the band where they need to be with all of their equipment. They are also responsible for prop work for the competition show and repairs that may be needed throughout the season. Email Joey at service@musicmentors.org for more information.
Hospitality: This groups helps keep our kids happy during third quarter by gathering and then providing snacks. Please email Jen and Meredith at hospitality@musicmentors.org for more information.
Uniforms: This groups is responsible for distributing, collecting, sizing, and cleaning our FCMB and Concernt uniforms. Remember, our uniforms are collected after every game. Please email Karen at uniforms@musicmentors.org for more information.
50/50: This group sell 50/50 raffle tickets at all Varsity home games until halftime. This is one of our biggest fundraisers and we would love to have 8+ sellers at every game. Of course, you get into the game free, and can watch your student perform since we are done at halftime. Contact Matt at raffle@musicmentors.org for more information.
Scholarship: This committee solicits donations for our basket raffle that benefits our scholarship program. They work year round sending letters or emails for donations as well as visiting local establishments for donations. Please contact Debbie at scholarships@musicmentors.org for more information.
