Water Donations needed
Music Mentors distributes a LARGE amount of water during the season and we have finally run low from our generous donations last year. We are asking that each member in the FCMB donates one case of water bottles. Both small and regular size water bottle donations are accepted. This can be dropped off at the “F Wing” garage door prior to games between 5-6 pm or your students can also bring it outside Mr. Poremba’s office on game days.
This water is used during 3rd quarter at all home games for both our band and the visiting band, trips like Cedar Point, competitions, etc. We appreciate all your support!
Volunteer Opportunities
Music Mentors has several volunteer opportunities for our parents to become involved and we need your help! Assisting a band of over 160 students each week takes a village and we are looking for new parents to become part of our crew. We know everyone has different talents and is comfortable helping in different ways therefore we have various committees for you to become a part of. We encourage you to review the “About us” page on our website, www.musicmentors.org for detailed information and if interested, please email the chairperson your contact information. Currently, we are seeking help on all committees. We’d love to welcome everyone into Music Mentors and get to know all of you!
Specifically, we are in need of the below for this weekend:
50/50 Raffle
At least 10 more adults to assist us in selling 50/50 tickets at the football game this Friday for the first half of the game. You will get into the game for free, sell tickets throughout the stands and still be able to watch your student perform at halftime. After halftime, you are free to enjoy the game! St Ignatius is our biggest home game and we need LOTS of sellers in the stands. This is a great opportunity for our outgoing family members who like to meet people, love to chat as well as those who like to get their steps in. If you can help out, please reach out to Angela Forgus at [email protected] .
Hospitality
The hospitality committee is in need of snack donations. We provide these snacks for our band members as well as the visiting band during the third quarter meet and greet at all home games.
Individually wrapped snack donations include salty and sweet snacks as well as fresh fruit and cheese sticks. NO NUTS please.
Pre packaged snacks can be dropped off in the music wing and/or between 5:00 – 6:00 at the garage on the side of the performing arts center before every home game. We only have the ability to store dry food. So fresh fruit and cheese sticks need to be dropped off before the games.
There is a sign up genius link in this email. Questions or if you would like to help the hospitality committee – email Jen and Mary Ellen at [email protected]

Thank you!!
Other committees that are in need for help for the season:
Chaperones:
Chaperones are needed at both home and away events. We are the extra eyes and ears for our staff and are here to assist with busses and bathroom breaks, etc. We like to have a large group so that chaperones can alternate assisting at the various events. Please contact Meredith at [email protected] .
Service Crew
Our service crew is our behind the scenes “Pit Crew”. They do it all – help with props for our performances. They help transport the snacks and water to our home games. They also repair equipment, load and unload the semi. We have both men and woman volunteers and they can always use help. Please contact Jason at [email protected] to sign up!
Uniforms
Our uniform committee is currently awaiting arrival of our brand new uniforms. Several volunteers are needed each season to help distribute and collect uniforms before and after each game and competition. We also need volunteers to assist with fitting and alterations (sewing experience is not necessary!) The uniform committee also assists with concert attire fittings and distribution. Please contact Christina to become part of this great group! [email protected]
Scholarship
This group has lots of opportunities for volunteering from the comfort of your own home! This group solicits donations for our raffle to benefit our scholarship fund. Being able to contact corporations and businesses for donations through day to day activities as well as emailing is the primary function until it is raffle time, and then this group puts together our baskets. Please join our scholarship group if you love bring creative and helping others! Contact Kim at [email protected]
