Additionally, we would like to say THANK YOU to Amy Freeman for all her years of service to Music Mentors. The success of our Tag Days over these years has been a direct result of the hard work and dedication she has put forth. Amy has been a volunteer for 8+ years on the executive board and has recently stepped down from her position as Vice President. We will greatly miss her and wish her all the best.
With a mid-year vacancy in the board, we are able to appoint a person to step in. Congratulations goes out to Dan Bingman, our current webmaster, as he was chosen unanimously by the Executive Board to step in to the Vice President role for the remainder of the 2025-2026 year.

▪ Friday, October 10th: NO SCHOOL – NEOEA Day! MHS vs. Shaker Hts., Call time 4:45 PM
▪ Saturday, October 11th: Buckeye Invitational, Call time 10:30 AM, Performance Time 6 pm; Return to MHS – LATE!
Concert Band Uniform Fittings
As we are headed into Concert Band season soon, fittings for Concert Band uniforms will be held at the following times. Students should sign up on the sign up sheets on the windows outside Mr. Poremba’s office.
- Tuesday, October 7th: 5-8 pm
- Wednesday, October 8th: 3-7 pm
Please Note: for those students planning to attend on Wednesday after school. There could be significant wait times as only a couple uniform volunteers will be there.
Buckeye Invitational Competition, October 11th
The FCMB will be performing at the Buckeye Invitational at Ohio State University on October 11th. Please view the link below for more information regarding the campus, parking, merchandise, etc.
Buckeye Invitational Information
There is a pre-sale ticket rate of $20 if the tickets are ordered online prior to October 9th. You can visit this Buckeye Invitational Tickets link to purchase ahead of time.
Call time will be 10:30 am and performance time will be 6 pm. The students will be entertained by the Ohio State Marching band at 9 pm and awards will follow. It will be a long but worthwhile day! Students must plan to bring cashless funds (credit cards, debit cards, etc) as the students will be visiting concessions at the OSU Stadium. Students may also pack snacks and food, to eat prior to entering the stadium, as outside food is not permitted,
Spirit wear specific to the event is available and details are in the link. They do accept preorders, and the preorder deadline is October 9th.
Looking Ahead: Brunswick Sound Spectacular, October 18th
The FCMB will compete on October 18th at the Brunswick Sound Spectacular. The link below has general information pertaining to the event, but please note, spirit wear is also available for this competition, but it is by PREORDER only, and the deadline is October 9th.
