Saturday, September 28th

This will be a busy, yet exciting day for the FCMB! The FCMB call time will be 11:30 am. They should eat breakfast before they arrive and packing snacks may be a great idea. However, the students will be fed prior to the competition. The tentative plan is pasta, salad and rolls.

There will be a pre-game performance at 1:40 pm as the River Rouge game begins at 2 pm. Given our tight timeline, the FCMB will not be staying for the game as we will leave for Avon Lake at 3 pm. The competition is held at Avon Lake Memorial Stadium and the FCMB will perform at 6:30 pm.

Admission is $8 for adults and $6 for Seniors, Veterans and children under 12. Tickets are purchased at the gate.

For those of you new to marching band competition, below are some helpful tips:
* Please give yourself ample time to arrive, find parking, purchase tickets and find seating.
* It is best to plan to be in the bleachers at least 30 minutes prior to performance time.
* To minimize distraction in the stands, the bleacher walkways and aisles will be blocked off while a band is performing. Once the band is finished, the ushers will allow spectators in and out of the stands. Therefore, it is best to find a seat at least one band prior to the FCMB performance time.
* Please be courteous and quiet while other bands are performing.
* At the awards, the “ratings” for each band are typically announced with each school striving for a rating of “I – Superior” which means they have qualified for State competition. Additional awards may be given out but it is the ratings that are of utmost importance.

We hope to see many supporters in Avon Lake for our first full competition performance!
