KUDOS TO THE MENTOR COMMUNITY!
We want to give a huge shout out to our Mentor community for all the support they have provided to Music Mentors for the band programs of the Mentor School District on Tag Day! Over 220 students canvassed our neighborhoods in seek of donations for the band program on Saturday, September 7th. In 4 short hours, we were able to collect over $20,000 in donations! These donations help with uniform costs, instrument purchases and repairs, music purchases, guest instructors, band camp, educational opportunities, etc.
Donations are still being accepted on our website, www.musicmentors.org, or they can be sent in with a student, or mailed to Music Mentors, Inc.; PO BOX 1864; Mentor, OH 44061
We greatly appreciate our community, our students and volunteers for helping us make this Tag Day a huge success!
THIS WEEK IN BAND!
This week the band is traveling to Medina on Friday night hoping that the Cardinals can keep their winning streak going!
Schedule:
- Tuesday, September 10th: Rehearsal 4 – 7 pm
- Thursday, September 12th: Rehearsal 2:45 – 5:00 pm
- Friday, September, 13th: MHS @ Medina at 7 pm, Call time 3:30 pm. Students should eat before they arrive.
Looking Ahead
Wednesday, September 18th: LCMEA Marching Band Festival at 7 pm at the high school; Shirt order form to be available soon!
Saturday, September 28th: Home FB game is in the afternoon, 1st competition in the evening
VOLUNTEER UPDATES
WATER DONATIONS are still needed. If you have not dropped off a case of water, we are still accepting this and will be throughout the season. Water can be dropped off at the FAC garage as well, on Friday prior to 6 pm and can also be brought in with your students on rehearsal days.
50/50 Raffle
We are still seeking 50/50 sellers for our upcoming home games. This is a great way to help out the band! Remember, you get into the game for free, can still watch your student perform halftime and then are free after halftime.
We started the season off great – earning $1700 at the first home game. Unfortunately, the weather got the best of us and the last game was a wash out with very little profit.
We have some ground to make up and need your help! Please consider helping us out and come join the 50/50 crew!
